We considered ourselves lucky to experience a three day strike (bunda) while we were in Nepal. We loved that there were just pedestrians, bicycles and the occasional cow in the streets (photo 1). We walked a few miles to visit Nanda, a friend of Ravi and Holly's. The kids had fun playing together, Nanda cooked a wonderful meal and Nanda's daughters took us to see the Sleeping Vishnu (photo 4). The view from Nanda's roof (photo 5) shows that we were on the outskirts of Kathmandu, with land still being used to farm.
