Back in NOLA

Back in Nola and off to festivities! The first two photos are from Jackson's 2nd birthday party. Tiba and Tavo are helping him break in his new drums. The next two photos are Tavo and Magdalena listening to Glen David Andrews at the French Quarter Fest.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had an Easter egg hunt for Ninito in the garden area at the bunglalows. He caught on quick and kept saying "juevo" (egg) all day. Magdalena wanted to put the eggs in her mouth, while her brother watched. (12 April 09)

Anabel & Fabian's Wedding

We were lucky to be in Mexico for Nino's cousin Anabel's wedding. It was a very nice wedding, with a beautiful bride and lots of dancing. We just watched the dancing, as each of us had to hold a sleeping baby. (7 April 09)

Parque Chapultepec: Last Visit

We went one last time to our favorite park in Cuernavaca, Parque Chapultepec. Magdalena enjoyed the bunnies. Tavo was more interested in rocks than the fish, his friend Roberto and bubbles. (6 April 09)

Tavo at Papalote

Cuernavaca has a children's museum called Papalote. Tavo's favorite thing was this insect filled with balls that you crawl in and slide out on the tongue. He was happy sitting and playing with the balls and only slid down the tongue once.

Outside, he looks like he contemplating the deeper meaning of Diego Rivera's "Rio Juchitan", but in reality, he had just crawled under it and bumped his head. (2 April 2009)

Balneario Ex-Hacienda de Temixco

We visited the ex-hacienda of Temixco, which was converted into a water park. It was a weekday, and we had the place almost to ourselves. We went in the morning, unaware that the rides aren't turned on until the afternoon, which is naptime. But we had a nice time anyway. Tavo and Magdalena went down some small water slides on our laps and we wandered around swimming in all the different pools. (1 April 2009)

Tavo's Favorite Things

Our boy loves music (especially drums) and animals (especially horses). He was watching the musicians so attentively that people were noticing him more than the musicians.

Medieval Fair

We went to a Medieval Fair with Neza, Margarita and Roberto last Saturday (a fundraiser for the Waldorf school here in Cuernavaca). The school grounds are beautiful, with lots of trees, and there were all kinds of fun activities. Tavo painted a dagger and cooked bread over a fire. We also bet on which number a chicken would poop on. We lost, our number was 4 and the chicken pooped on 6.

Cathedral at Night

After dinner one evening, we hung out at the cathedral grounds. It is beautiful at night, all lit up. Tavo charmed the older girls with gifts of rocks.

Sleeping Beauties

Magdalena just recently started moving around in her sleep. Her favorite position has always been lying flat on her stomach. Tavo is sleeping under a mosquito net, and still with his Winnie the Pooh blankie. Magdalena has a blanket but hasn't become attached to it, nor does she suck her thumb. She's just super attached to her mother!
