Nice Series of Shots

Thanks Grandma McDonald!

Tavo loves his soft animal blanket that his grandmother made for him. Here he is checking it out for the first time, and his mother just asked him where the giraffe is. Then, Magdalena joins her brother on the blanket, and he can't resist lying on top of her. Poor Magdalena...

Fun in Tub

We don't have a bath tub at our place in New Orleans, so Ninito really enjoyed taking tub baths at every place we were at. Here he is with his cousin Galo; also a photo of him with his Tio Ricardo and one of Magdalena and Tia Cynthia.

Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville

Tavo loves animals and Magdalena seems to as well. She skipped her afternoon nap and saw a baby camel (just one month old), gorillas, kangaroos, among many other animals.

Long Car Rides

I couldn't leave out these cute shots of the kiddos in one of our car trips around Texas. Magdalena is momentarily recovering from a bout of crying and Tavo is in his car zone-out. Amazingly, he can sleep through his sister's cries.

Magdalena Meets More Family

Here is Magdalena meeting her great grandmother Chacha, great Aunt Rosie and her grandfather Ricardo. All enjoyed her bountiful smiles.

Meeting Madrinas Matkin

While in Texas, Magdalena and Tavo got to meet two of their godparents...Michelle and Melanie Matkin. Magdalena is sporting a hat knitted by Michelle. And Tavo warmed up to Melanie despite having four teeth coming in at the same time. What great godmamas!

Christmas Family Portrait

Christmas in Texas

We have had many wonderful Christmas celebrations with relatives in Texas over the past week. Tavo quickly caught on to the present opening thing and was eager to help mama and papa open their gifts too.

Magdalena got to meet lots of aunts, uncles and cousins and charm them all. If only we didn't have to drive in the car (it is torture for her and us!), she'd be the happiest baby ever. She also had a big growth spurt and has grown out of clothes she just had fit in a few days prior. Today, at exactly four months, she rolled over from back to front.

Tavo has enjoyed playing with his cousins and with the different toys at each house we go to. His vocabulary is growing. He says "no" very well and also something that sounds close to "si" (yes), "uh-oh", "hello", "hola" and "elmo." He parrots "nino", "jana", "happy" and other words.
