Texas Trip: San Antonio

Everyone was very happy to have Papi join us in Texas after his semester ended. We spent a few more days in Bastrop and Austin and then headed to San Antonio, where we met up with Abuela Christina at Tio Ricardo's place. We went to Fiesta, Texas and had a hot, but fun day.

The pictures say it all...

Texas Trip: Dinosaur Park

Not far from Grandma and Grandpa McDonald's house is a Dinosaur Park. The kids' favorite part was riding around in a wagon to see the replicas of dinosaurs. Magdalena pointed and exclaimed "uhh-uhh" loudly at each dinosaur.

Texas Trip: Bastrop

We spent most of our trip at Grandma and Grandpa McDonald's house in Bastrop. We took several day trips but mostly enjoyed just being at their place. We swam almost everyday with Grandpa, went on walks to see the neighbor's horses, went for a canoe ride down the Colorado river and played outside with Mama and Uncle Jason's old toys (including a kitchen made by Grandpa). Magdalena started standing up for the first time and also learned her first sign in sign language "more." Tavo became a fish. He loves to jump in the water and also puts his head in, holds his breath and swims a good distance. He has no fear of the water!

Texas Trip: Austin

The next stop on the Texas trip was North Austin, where we visited with Ninito's and Magdalena's great grandmother Chacha, Aunt Christina, Uncle Dave, Tio Ricardo and cousins Alex, Davey and Galo. We hadn't seen everyone since Christmas, and all were happy to see how the babies have grown. Ninito went straight to Davey's room to find the toys, and it didn't take him long to be climbing all over Davey.

Texas Trip: New Braunfels

Jana and the kids went to Texas for a few weeks while Nino finished up his semester and exams in New Orleans. At the beginning of our trip, we had very relaxing and fun stay with Bethany and Benjamin in New Braunfels. We swam in the Comal River (in her backyard!), went for a kayak ride, rode the train in Landa Park and fed the ducks and visited the fire station. Tavo and Magdalena also enjoyed playing with Benjamin and his trains, horses and play kitchen. Jana enjoyed being able to spend time with her cousins Kristine and Bethany and also Uncle Arthur and Aunt Molly.
