Nepal Photos 7

We went with our good friend Kamal to his village Lele for a weekend. Lele is not far from Kathmandu, but is completely different. It is gorgeous countryside, and his house is up in the mountains (photo 1), with views of snow-capped mountains in the distance (notice in photo 2). We slept upstairs, and his two goats and cow slept below us (photo 3). It seemed that Kamal had relatives in every house on the mountain, who all were very welcoming. Kamal's niece Sushila fed us a delicious meal when we arrived (in photo 5) and in the evening, Kamal's son prepared goat. In the morning, we had a "chia" tour, going from house to house drinking chai tea.

Nepal Photos 5

Here we are in Bhaktapur, an ancient Newari town in Kathmandu valley. We loved the Bhaktapur Durbar Square and spent many days here exploring the town, temples and cuisine. Bhaktapur is famous for its yogurt, and it was the most delicious yogurt we've ever tasted.

More shots of Magdalena, the first in Durbar Square in Kathmandu with school kids, the rest in Dhulikhel. The last shot is Tavo and Tula looking cute watching cartoons together in our hotel room.

In a quest to see a closer view of the mountains of Nepal, we went for a weekend to Dhulikhel. Unfortunately, we were unlucky and both days were foggy. But we had a nice hike with Ravi, Holly, Anjali and Tulasi.

Here we are in Darbar Square, surrounded by cows and pigeons. Tavo stayed his distance, but Magdalena wasn't phased.
