Waiting for Baby & Hurricane Gustav

Today, August 30th is the due date for the birth of our new child. The possible arrival of Gustav along the Louisiana coast is making the wait more stressful than we ever imagined. With Gustav not yet in the Gulf and quite a bit of uncertainty as to its path, we'd rather not take the chance of evacuating and getting stuck in hours of traffic (especially since the second birth should be faster than the first). However, it sounds like there will be a mandatory evacuation called for New Orleans early Sunday, and we will leave to Baton Rouge. We have a place to stay (a friend of a friend) and recommendations, directions to hospitals and a copy of my medical records. If labor starts before then, hospitals will remain open here for emergencies. We are very excited to meet the newest member of our family, to know if it is a boy or girl and, now, to know where s/he wll be born!

Dear Jana, Nino and Tavito,
We are praying for the three of you. We wish Jana a smooth labor. And we know that this baby will know where it is best for him/her to be born.
Do let us know how you are doing.
And hopefully one day not too far, the four of you will come to Cuernavaca to play with Roberto.
Muchos abrazos y besos,
Neza, Roberto y Margarita

I've been thinking of you Jana! Wondering about Gustav and how it may affect you guys. Also thinking of the newest member of your family. I'm hoping for the smoothest of times for you.
I can't wait to hear the news! I've still got a box of diaper covers to send to you - I'm just waiting to see if I can throw in a few of our girls' things as well! :)
Love, Angelica

Jana,

As a weather person, if he is a boy, my vote is you name him Gustav. Gustavo? Or since you guys like nine so much, Nino Gustav! You can't miss an opportunity like this one. Alx

Heather Here - Jana, I have been thinking of you a lot. I have lost your cell phone, so I haven't called, but our thoughts and prayers are with you.
